Requirement to split the lot where resulted lot may exist in system. Fusion is not allowing to do so

We have a requirement to split the lot where resulted lot may exist in system. Fusion is not allowing to do so. Getting below error.

You must enter a different Lot Number attribute. There's already lot number 34D.0040.

Please suggest if there is any workaround to achieve this.
