Is Oracle replacing BICC?

Yes. Many performance bottlenecks can be traced to resource contention from ongoing extracts of data with BICC, and with real-time querying for integration purposes through BI Publisher. The primary business benefit of the data extract tool is to provide a better way to meet both of these needs by retrieving data from the Read-Optimized Data Store (RODS).

What is the Read-Optimized Data Store?

The Data Store is part of Oracle’s next generation architecture for Applications. RODS is being provisioned on all customer pods, and uses Golden Gate to replicate a select subset of Fusion Application data.
