Use cases for Role & Capability Guides

Does anyone have examples of use cases for how clients have implemented and will benefit from Role & Capability guides?

If they are linked to position & job we are struggling to understand how they are not a duplication of model profiles. And have clients raised concern about people within the business effectively creating their own versions of model profiles and them then being visible in opportunity marketplace for all to see?
