The Inventory Asset Value item attribute was changed from Expense to Asset without issuing on-hand

Summary:

The Inventory Asset Value item attribute was changed from Expense to Asset while inventory on-hand existed, without properly issuing out all inventory before the update. This caused the system to maintain inventory balances in both Expense and Asset valuation structures, leading to negative quantities. We are looking for a way to resolve this. Can anyone suggest a way to perform fix this issue for ~300 items through some bulk processing/update?
