We have a requirement to configure journal approvals based on a combination of Approval Group and Journal Preparer Level.

Journal preparers should be able to select an appropriate Approval Group based on the nature/type of the journal batch. Each Approval Group will contain a predefined set of potential approvers.

During approval routing, the workflow should evaluate both:

  • The Approval Group selected for the journal batch.
  • The approval level assigned to the journal preparer.

The journal should then be routed only to members of the selected Approval Group whose approval level is
