"There's nothing here so far" message in various places (no filters added)

Summary:

I get this message often in many places in around Oracle: "There's nothing here so far". Usually happens in Employment Info and Terminate Employment, and happens most often after I've been working in the system for a bit. I have no filters/sorting on that would cause all the data to disappear. The only work around is clearing cache/history and restarting browser, but this is bothersome as I lose all other tabs that I have open and I have to do this at least once a day. I cannot figure out another workaround for "resetting" the page so that our employees
