GL Trial Balance vs Inventory Valuation Report (As of Date) Mismatch on Inventory Asset Accounts
Summary:
Hi Experts,
We're seeing a discrepancy between the General Ledger Trial Balance ending balance for Period June 2026 and the Inventory Valuation Report (As of Date 30-JUN-2026) for our Inventory asset accounts, and would appreciate input from anyone who has run into something similar.
Summary of the variance (TB - Inventory Valuation):
Account | Description | TB Ending Balance (Jun 2026) | Inventory Valuation Report (As of 30-Jun-2026) | Variance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1411100001 | Inventory Valuation - Material | 157,899,985,468.18 | 175,056,881,777.59 | (17,156,896,309.41) |
1411100002 | Inventory Valuation - Komponen | 85,518,975,517.83 | 61,805,265,785.54 | 23,713,709,732.29 |
1411100003 | Inventory Valuation - Consumable | 17,080,679,503.98 | 21,687,491,774.49 | (4,606,812,270.51) |
1411100004 | Inventory Valuation - Tools & Equipment | 7,378,456,127.23 | 7,825,859,369.43 | (447,403,242.20) |
Total | 267,878,096,617.22 | 266,375,498,707.04 | 1,502,597,910.18 |
What stands out to us: Material and Komponen show offsetting variances of similar magnitude in opposite directions, which makes us suspect a reclassification (item category / inventory asset account change mid-period) rather than a posting failure.
