Oracle US Payroll – Gross-Up Calculation Resulting in High Tax Amount for Supplemental Earnings

Summary:

Hi Everyone,

We have created two elements for a Gross-Up requirement (As per Oracle seeded solution - Net-To-Gross):

  • Imputed Earnings Element to capture the required net amount.
  • Supplemental Earnings Element to calculate the gross-up amount.

The overall logic is working correctly; however, the taxes calculated are very high, resulting in a total gross-up of more than 40–50%.

For example, Social Security tax appears higher than the expected 6.2%, and similar higher rates are observed for other taxes.

Is there any configuration or recommended approach to reduce the tax amount while ensuring the required net amount is paid?
