Dataguard switchover

Hello Team,

We have an OCI environment with separate UAT and PROD database systems.

Our current setup is:

  • UAT/Test environment: OCI DB System without Data Guard/DR.
  • PROD environment: OCI DB System with a Data Guard standby configured for DR (enabled via OCI Console).
  • Active Data Guard is currently not enabled or licensed in our environment(will cross check)

For this test, we will create a new db system and associate dataguard from console or from oci cli.

We are planning to perform a DR/switchover test to validate how the application behaves when the database role is switched from the primary database to the DR standby.
