Suggestions on course e-authoring tools?

We are currently using a third party vendor to re-configuring our existing web based courses so that they are single-SCO SCORM compliant prior to importing into our Lean Center.  Does anyone have suggestions on what e-learning tools are available for modifying existing course content as well as creating new course content.  One recommendation we have so far is the "e-Learning Authoring" tool by e-learning consulting...but we are curious if anyone has used other applications/sofware as well.
