Unable to extend Final Close Date under Element Duration

We have an Element which is marked as Closed for Entry. Before 26C it was working fine and we were able to extend the Final Close Date under Payroll Relationship —> Payroll Assignment Details in Redwood Page.

Post 26C, we are unable to extend Final Close date and getting error as

The message is : The XXXX element has a setting in effect that doesn't allow new entries. Details: The closed for entry indicator on the element prevents the creation of new entries or the extension of the end date on an existing entry. Existing entries remain available to employees that have them already.
