VBCS Application Not Picking Up Updated Credentials from Tenant Settings

Summary:

We have multiple VBCS applications using Oracle ERP REST connections with Basic Authentication.

Recently, the ERP service account password was changed, and we updated the new password at the VBCS tenancy level. However, existing staged/published VBCS applications are still using the old credentials and are failing with authentication errors.

Could someone help clarifying:

• Should tenancy-level credential changes automatically propagate to existing staged/published applications?
• Do we need to restage/republish applications after a password change?
• Are credentials cached or stored during staging/publishing?
• What is the recommended approach for centrally updating credentials across all deployed VBCS applications?
