Java Memory Consumption and Server Unresponsiveness
Hi team,
We have an OCI Compute instance running the OIC Connectivity Agent as a Java process, with an initial heap allocation of 2 GB.
Recently, the server became unresponsive, and we were unable to connect to it. We raised an Oracle SR, and Oracle confirmed that a Java process had consumed most of the available memory, triggering the Linux OOM Killer. They also mentioned that there was no infrastructure-related issue.
We performed a stop and start of the Compute instance, after which the server became accessible again.
- How can we prevent the Java process from consuming excessive memory and making the server unresponsive?
