OCI scheduler - BaseDB

edited Oct 7, 2026 1:38AM in Database 8 comments

Hi Team,

For an OCI Base Database Service (DBCS), could you please advise on:

  1. What is the recommended IAM policy for Resource Scheduler to stop/start the DBCS instance?
  2. When the scheduler stops a DBCS system, does it perform a graceful shutdown of the database components (Database, Listener, ASM, Clusterware, etc.) before shutting down the VM?
  3. Is the stop operation considered a clean/supported shutdown, similar to stopping the DB System from the OCI Console?

For OCI compute, we have allow any-user to manage instances in compartment DEV_COMPARTMENT where all {request.principal.type='resourceschedule'} in place.

Thanks,

SGU
