Approval gets stuck if the position is vacant

Hi Everyone,

I am facing an issue with Position Hierarchy approvals in Oracle Fusion.

We have configured approvals based on a position tree, but due to a high employee turnover rate, positions frequently become vacant. Whenever an approval reaches a vacant position in the hierarchy, the workflow gets stuck because there is no incumbent assigned to that position.

I would like to understand the best approach to handle this scenario. Is there any way to automatically skip a vacant position and route the approval to the next occupied position in the hierarchy? or any other workaround for it.

Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated.
