Cannot read field "scale" because "val" is null

Summary:
We have adopted the Redwood Learning Path Editor. We have identified that existing specializations when updated using the new editor are returning this error: Cannot read field "scale" because "val" is null. Also, many of the required fields are not preset as they would be in the new editor i.e. learning format, languages, publisher etc.
Have any other customers experienced similar issues?
