<clear> function in requests and subscriptions

I cleared out the core.description property on one viewpoint. I have set up a derivation for this property which is Derived and Stored and I wanted to get the derivation to run which it did using the <clear> function. I have a subscribed viewpoint that had the converter set to copy, and so the <clear> command appears to have been performed in that viewpoint, where I don't have the derivation set up.

Is this the intended behavior? I would have expected that since this is a derived and stored property, the subscription copy function would have used the stored value for this property? I thought that was the point of using Derived and Stored?
