Make skills read-only for employees based on source catalog or folder

in Dynamic Skills

Hi everyone,

We have multiple skill content item catalogs in Talent Profiles. We want employees to be able to edit skills from some catalogs but not edit or delete skills that come from one specific catalog or folder, such as governed, certified, or role-mandated skills. Employees should still be able to maintain their self-declared skills.

What we've tried and found:

  1. Visual Builder Studio (VBS): We looked at customizing the Skills component, but we couldn't find an attribute that shows the skill's source catalog or folder. Without it, we can't write a rule or code to make those rows read-only.
  2. Multiple content sections from the same Skill template:
