How to end-date a person type in Oracle HCM as of a specific effective date?

The user requirement is to end-date the person type in Oracle as of a specific date. However, the current system functionality does not support end-dating the person type; it only allows us to inactivate it. If the person type is inactivated, it is also removed from the records of employees to whom it has already been assigned, which may impact existing employee data.

Could you please confirm whether there is an option to end-date a person type as of a specific date, or an alternative approach to inactivate it without affecting existing employee records?
