Oracle Planning Maintenance(FreeForm) Window Running for More Than 8 Hours

Hello Everyone,

We are currently experiencing an issue where our Oracle Planning / EPM Cloud environment has remained in the maintenance window for more than 8 hours, significantly longer than the typical duration.

A few details:

  • Environment: Oracle Planning (Freeform)
  • Maintenance started during the scheduled daily maintenance window
  • The environment remains unavailable, and maintenance has not completed
  • We have an SR open with Oracle and are awaiting further details
  • No large data loads, refreshes, or user activities were running at the time maintenance started

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has encountered a similar issue:

  1. What was the root cause?
  2. Was it related to patching, snapshot creation, backups, Smart List exports, or an Oracle-side infrastructure issue?
