Managing item revisions in Fusion and their impact on Planning, OM, and Manufacturing
Hi Community,
Our customer maintains items and revisions in an external engineering system. New revisions are created for form, fit, or function changes; in some cases, engineering creates a new item number.
With Inventory, Supply Planning, OM/GOP, and Manufacturing in scope, we are evaluating whether to synchronize engineering revisions into Fusion and enable inventory revision control.
Scenario: Item X has Rev A on hand and open work orders when Rev B becomes effective. Rev A may be fully interchangeable with B, acceptable only for certain customers/assemblies, or unsuitable for B-specific demand.
