Performance issue in Annual Leave Accrual Matrix Fast Formula

edited 6:11AM in Human Capital Management

Hi all,

We have a client requirement to front-load the annual leave entitlement, with the entitlement defined per grade. For example, Grade 5 gets 20 days and Grade 6 gets 22 days. An employee who is on Grade 5 on 1 January is given 20 days up front. If the employee is promoted to Grade 6 during the year, the entitlement must be prorated to reflect the change.

When the formula calculates month by month (using the accrual period start and end dates), the grade change is not picked up and the entitlement is wrong. When we calculate across the whole year (calendar year start to end, day by day), the grade change is picked up and the result is correct. However, this loops over 365 days, so the Calculate Accruals run takes about 5 minutes per employee. The old monthly formula takes less than a minute.

Howdy, Stranger!
