Basic Authentication Deprecation: ESS and BI Publisher SOAP Services

Summary:

Oracle has announced that Basic Authentication for REST/SOAP APIs will be deprecated in March 2027.

According to “Fusion Applications URLs supported for Token-Based Authentication” (KB 929723), the SOAP context roots supported for token-based authentication are listed as:

• /crmService
• /fscmService
• /hcmService

However, the following SOAP services currently used in our Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP environment are not included in this list:

1. ESS Web Service
   • Endpoint: ess/esswebservice
   • Operation: submitRequest
   • Purpose: Submitting ESS jobs
2. BI Publisher ExternalReportWSSService
   • Endpoint: xmlpserver/services/ExternalReportWSSService
   • Operation: runReport
   • Purpose: Executing and retrieving BI Publisher reports

Could you please clarify the following points regarding these two services?
