General Ledger Variance After Processing 27th Pay Period in 2026

Summary:

We have 26 payroll periods defined for 2026. However, the first payroll period of 2027 had both the start date and end date falling within the 2026 calendar year. To accommodate this, we converted Period 1 of 2027 into Period 27 of 2026 by updating the following:

Changed the period name from 1-2027 to 27-2026.
Updated the period sequence number accordingly.
Modified the Payroll Run Date and Payslip Availability Date to 12/31/2026 in the Payroll Definition > Time Periods page.

After making these changes, we successfully processed the payroll and subsequently ran the Transfer to Subledger Accounting process.

However, during reconciliation, we observed variances in the General Ledger. Specifically, accounting amounts for approximately 500 employees were not transferred to the General Ledger exactly, resulting in significant discrepancies between payroll accounting and GL balances. Do I need to make any additional changes.

Howdy, Stranger!
