Enrollments vs. Assignments

Have a series of PDF training documents that I'm going to be rolling out over the coming weeks. I've put the first few out as assignments (with doc attachments). But, having a large audience, grading all submissions through the Gradebook is cumbersome. And it will be much worse when I've got 20 docs posted.

I've heard this could be better done through a batch enrollment. I'm still reading up on Enrollments in the online help, but can anyone suggest a best practice?
