Notices and Notifications - how to use them?

Hi There,

I'm trying to get my notices/notifications to work, but so far I had no sucess. According to Orcale my notice/notification function is activated now. Then, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I want users to be notified about an assignment that they need to take in form of a course. I created the course and add the assignment and the user that need to take this assignment. Then, what should be my next step to make the notices/notification work if I want the users to get the notice right away after the assignment was assigned to them? Should I
