Is there a way to update the status of an aborted instance

Summary

I want to change an instance from aborted to "not aborted"

We have an instance that was accidentally aborted.  It was aborted after it called sent a critical WS message to our ERP system.  This is an issue because ignore aborted instances in our 3rd party reporting.  Is there any way "recover" this aborted instance?
