Bug with the Required Email Field

Hello,

Our LC will not accept an employees email address due to a bug. Has anyone experienced this problem? This is our 4th year with the LMS and this functionality never worked, but it was promised during contract negotiation. We are always told that it will be fixed with the next release. This should be considered basic functionality.
