Carousel that Launches Courses and Assessments?

I am curious if any other Learn users have successfully implemented a carousel that rotates through images and links which when clicked launch a course or assessment. We were close to having something work, but came up against the obstacle of not being able to have standard formatted URLs (as opposed to relative links) that launch a course or assessment without going to the Learn login (when user is already logged in and in a LC).
