Course then assignment?

Is there a way to sequence a person taking a course and then completing an assignment outside of a learning plan?

We are attempting to trigger this workflow:

A person picks up a course from a LC page

The course is a one pager

The person then triggers an assignment (still in the course player)

The assignment has specific details (the user attaches an attachment)

The course goes to completion because the attachment is submitted.

We may for fun want to inject an electronic signature in the course.
