Synopsis: During good and difficult economic times, a bad hire can cost a company money and it’s reputation. Recruiters and hiring managers are increasingly focusing on the quality of hire, an enterprise-wide methodology for defining and hiring top talent. Ultimately, improving the quality of hire can help boost a company’s financial performance.

·         Define Quality: The staffing department must work with hiring managers to set the criteria that will bring about success at a job, including knowledge, skills, attitudes and internal and external cultural fit.

·         Measure Quality: Survey the hiring manager, consult annual performance reviews; measure worker productivity and tenure directly.
