Learning Plans that require Supervisor Approval

We'll be setting up "buckets" of eLearning courses in the form of Learning Plans and allowing end users to map themselves to the learning plans. This will be something new for our end users, as we have always pushed learning plans to end users and have not allowed end users to map themselves to learning plans.

Are we able to set up "Supervisor Approvals" for end users mapping themselves to specific learning plans?
