Self mapping to learning plan with new learning plan widget

I can't figure out how to map myself to a learning plan when using the new learning plan widget

 Is there a specific way the widget needs to be set up to allow users to map themselves to a learning plan. In the old dynamic object, if you selected all learning plans (not plans mapped to user only), the user could click a + to map themselves to the learning plan. Where is this functionality on the new learning plan widget?
