How do you manage changes to Assignments that are in Learning Plans?

Creating new assignments and new learning plans every time a small change is needed to an assignment is inefficient

Content

I want to make a very simple change to an assignment. I would like to update the document I have attached to the assignment. I believe these are the steps I need to take to do this. Is there a better way?

1) Inactivate current learning plan

2) Change assignment name to ZZZ Do Not Use

3) Add new assignment

4) Create new learning plan and put new assignment in learning plan

5) Map all people in old learning plan who are still incomplete to the new learning plan
