Registering dependents for tax purposes

Summary

For our payroll, we need to keep a list of all dependents (children, spouses, ...). How do we do this?

Hi,

I have some questions about the best practice to register Dependents for the purpose of tax reductions in the payroll calculation.

Our customer is trying to integrate HCM Cloud with a local payroll provider. To accurately calculate the amount of payroll tax to withhold, the payroll provider needs a list of dependents for each employee (there's a reduction for each dependent, but the amount depends on personal specifics of the dependents: age, disability, ...) .

It would be logical to register dependents in HCM Cloud as Person Contacts in the Manage Person work area. This would allow us to register almost all necessary information, without the need for FlexFields. This also enables the employee to manage their own Contacts through self service.
