Can fields in the position be changed to mandatory?

Can fields in the position be changed to mandatory?

We would like to set some of the position fields in the create/update position pages to mandatory.  The fields we would like to change to mandatory are Action Reason and Grade.  Can anyone advise if/how this can be done?
