eCommerce Problem: Learning Plan Product with Mapped Items Sequenced

When users purchase product with mapped items sequenced, all mapped items immediately go to "Incomplete" status

Content

When users purchase a product (all of our products are Learning Plans) that has mapped items that are SEQUENCED, upon purchasing the product, ALL mapped items immediately go to "Incomplete" status instead of "Not Attempted" status.  In addition, when you look at the user's item properties in the control panel, ALL of the sequenced mapped items (courses) show the DATE STARTED and  DATE VIEWED as the same date and time as the product was purchased (which would be impossible if the items must be completed in sequenced order).
