Salary Basis based on Locations

Hello
We are in our design phase for Oracle HCM Cloud conversion from PeopleSoft 9.1 and I am new to Fusion.
In PeopleSoft we had our Salary plans based on Locations.
Two employees with the same JobCode in NY and IL may have different Salary Plans/Grades and get paid differently.
When I move an employee from Location A to Location B, the salary plan gets defaulted for Location B without manual intervention.
However I am told by my development team that in Oracle HCM, HR has to chose the Salary Basis from the spectrum of values when such a Location transfer occurs. Is there a provision to tie up Location and Salary Basis and have the automation still work for Location transfers?
