CPQ functionality with regards to Quote Approval History

It appears to be 'standard CPQ functionality' that when someone clicks the 'Revise' button on a quote that was previously submitted for approval:

1) the quote Submit Date is cleared

2) the quote revision number for said quote gets incremented by 1

3) the quote approval history gets cleared

Is there any way of maintaining the quote approval history even in cases where the quote gets revised and subsequently forced thru approvals again?
