Currency symbols for AUD and CAD

Currently USD, AUD and CAD all utilize the "$" currency symbol. It would help alleviate a lot of confusion if CAD were to use "C$" and AUD use "A$". Without some other reference for customers, they are unsure whether an exchange rate is in place or not.
