Approving Goals from the BPM Worklist

Afternoon all,
I'm trying to approve an employees Goals via the BPM Worklist in lieu of the manager doing it.
I have searched for the Notification and have opened it, but can't see any way for me to approve these. There is an "Approve All" button, but this just populates the tick boxes for the Goals, and doesn't submit them in any way. I've tried to "Approve All" and then Save the task but this does nothing.
I can't see any other way for me to do this - does approving items via the BPM Worklost require any specific role assignment to me? I would have thought being able to use the BPM Worklist, and reassign tasks that i should also be able to approve them too?
