What is the significance of using "Manage Seniority Date" instead of "Manage Employment"

Hello Everyone,

I came across with one of my client's system where I saw that they are maintaining Person Assignment, Work Relationship and Seniority dates related data in the task "Manage Seniority Dates".

They do not have any data under the task "Manage Employment" in Person Management.

Now I am in a situation where I am not able to understand the significance of using "Manage Seniority Date".

Can somebody help me in understanding the same.

Thanks & Regards,

Puja Bharati
