SCOs, Data Pings, and Never Closing LearnCenter Sessions

Summary

Anybody else running into a headache of SCOs trying to keep a LC open? And the shortcomings of it?

Content

Hi everyone,

So we have run into an interesting problem with our SCOs and I am curious of how others deal with it. We have folk that walk away from their workstation (all the time) and leave their browser open. Their browser open with a LearnCenter session open. Their browser open with a LearnCenter session open with a SCO that is running.

What is interesting is when you look at the user audit logs, the LC seems like it is continually trying to close itself. You can see a message about a sessioncookie trying to do the right thing. I think in human speak? That is the LC time out session job attempting to do its thing. But we have SCOs that run ridiculously long. Some of them an hour and a half. So we have elongated the session time out job to accommodate.

Howdy, Stranger!
