Default translation rate for equity accounts

Hi all,

I've seen since a few releases that the default rate for equity accounts is historical however I have a requirement in which the default rate should be closing if no historical rate was input.

Will changing the rate to closing for all the accounts be enough ?? If the answer is yes, will a new release restore all the rates to historical ??
