Linking to course in category description

I'm trying to link to a course within the category widget. Here's what I've done:

  1. Created a category widget with descriptions displayed
  2. Placed category widget on a page (new designer pages)
  3. iframed designer page on page in our learncenter

In the category description, I've tried the following html:

Works but requires me to sign in again -

<a href="http://learncenter.com/courseredirect.asp?sessionid=!ldcsessionid!&DCT=1&courseid=709&quot; target="new">Click here</a>

Does not work -

<a href="#" onclick="javascript:window.location.href=sessionUtils.alterQueryString(&quot;learncenter.asp?DCT=1&amp;courseid=709;)">Click Here</a></td>
