Contacts and ESS - best way to handle situation

Content

Say employee divorced spouse; removed spouse as beneficiary; but still see spouse in contacts.

I understand that we should not delete name records per https://support.oracle.com/knowledge/Oracle Fusion Applications/2075369_1.html

But how do you make this contact not visible to employee? How are you handling contacts in cases such as this including death, separation, divorce etc.

Thank you
