A tip for success


According to the implementation documentation for the Managed Package with Salesforce, it sounds like users should be able to self-generate their security token simply by opening a quote from Salesforce. This worked about 50% of the time initially, but now it seems it fails 100% of the time. We have found a way to quickly generate a token for users that works 100% of the time (so far).

  1. If a token has already been generated for the user, revoke that token in CPQ (Admin -> Users -> User Profile -> Partner Info)
  2. We use a Skype session for this step: Bring up the Salesforce login window with the user's login already entered
