Cancelling work relationships

Hi everyone,

We have an issue where we need to cancel a work relationship because the employee was hired as a contingent worker instead of an employee.   She had some direct reports (current and future-dated) which were moved to another manager.  When our HR team member tried to cancel the work relationship, she got an error stating that she had a direct report that needed to be removed.  In running a query, there are no direct reports (current or future dated) under this employee but she is the manager of record for a termination and a manager change.  Could this cause an issue?
