Uploading images to announcements doesn't save

Using the new newsfeed layout, announcements can have images, August, we have found that the images often fail to save, has anyone else experienced this?

The SR remains open after 2.5 months but no update on the bug....

When user creates a new Announcement they get the option to choose a file to 
show as the image, but after saving the custom image file disappears and all 
announcement have the same default image
