Has anyone used Data Masking Cloud Service for lower environments?

Has anyone used Data Masking Cloud Service for lower environments? What is your experience? We subscribe to the service and used it just once, but found that it was making usernames as well, which prevented us from using the environment in the way that we needed, particularly to test approval rules. we have stopped masking since. Anyone else has similar experience?
